Amish Baked Oatmeal

Ingredients:

½ cup melted butter

2 large eggs

¾ cup light brown sugar

1 ½ tsp baking powder

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 ½ cups milk

3 cups instant oatmeal or whole oats

You will grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.

Add milk, butter, brown sugar, baking powder ,vanilla, and cinnamon to a large bowl and mix together. You will then add the oatmeal

You can then allow them to soak covered in the refrigerator overnight, I never do this. Probably because I’m impatient. I let it sit for about 15 minutes.

Which ever choice you make, you will still need to bake it. You will pour contents of the bowl onto a greased or parchment lined baking dish. 

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Serve this hot alone or with warm milk. This delicious dish makes me feel like I’m eating grandma’s oatmeal cookies for breakfast.
