5 eggs
1 12 ounces can evaporated milk
1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup granulated sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a small saucepan on the stove cook the one cup sugar until completely dissolved and a golden color. You will need to continuously stir the sugar until it is dissolved and reaches the desired color.

Carefully pour melted sugar into a 9-inch glass baking dish. Swirl the sugar around to coat the bottom and a little on the sides. Set aside to partially cool.

In a blender add both kinds of milk, eggs, and vanilla. Blend on pulse just until all ingredients are combined and frothy.

Now pour the ingredients from the blender into the now coated glass baking dish.( you will hear a crackling noise which is perfectly normal).
You will now place the glass baking dish inside another baking dish to create a water bath. You will then pour boiling water an inch up into the larger of the baking dishes.

You will now place this in the oven which was preheated to 350 degrees and bake uncovered for one hour. You will then let it cool for a few minutes. Then refrigerate it for at least an hour, To serve you will run a knife around the edges of the flan and turn over onto a plate.
