Dauphinoise Potatoes!

Dauphinoise Potatoes is a French dish of potatoes baked in milk. If you are a Julia Child’s fan or are into Fifty Shades of Grey then you’ve heard of Dauphinoise Potatoes. These potatoes are a delicious side dish for any meal.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Ingredients:

2lbs potatoes peeled and thinly sliced

1 Tbsp chopped garlic

6 Tbsp butter sliced

2 Tsp salt

1Tsp pepper

1 1/2 cups sour cream

1 1/2 cups gruyere or sharp cheddar cheese

1/4 cup milk

Instructions:

Butter baking dish.

Mix sour cream and milk together with salt and pepper and garlic.

Put 1/3 potato slices in bottom of the baking dish and spread part of the sour cream milk mixture and pats of butter.

Repeat for second and third layers of potatoes and sour cream mixtures and butter.

Finish the last layer and top with cheese.

Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove foil, and bake for 10 minutes longer until top is lightly browned.
